Your jewelry is crafted using genuine gemstones and high-quality metals, including Sterling Silver, SilveryCopper™, and GoldCopper™. To keep your pieces looking beautiful for years to come, a little routine care goes a long way.

The golden rule of jewelry care is simple: jewelry should be the last thing you put on in the morning and the first thing you take off at night.

Caring for Genuine Gemstones

Our turquoise and other natural stones are beautiful, porous materials that can absorb liquids and oils. They need a little extra care compared to lab-created stones.

  • Avoid liquids and chemicals. Keep your jewelry away from perfumes, hairsprays, lotions, household cleaners, and soaps. These can seep into the stones and change their color over time.
  • The dry rule. Never wear your jewelry while showering, swimming, or hot-tubbing. Chlorine and saltwater are particularly harsh.
  • Cleaning. Wipe stones with a damp soft cloth, then dry immediately with a fresh cloth.
  • What to avoid. Never use steam cleaners, ultrasonic cleaners, or harsh chemical jewelry dips on natural stones.

Caring for Your Metals

It is completely normal for Sterling Silver, SilveryCopper™, and GoldCopper™ to tarnish over time. This is a natural reaction to air, moisture, and skin contact - it is not a defect.

The Easy Fix: A jeweler's polishing cloth restores the original shine in seconds. These are inexpensive and available at Amazon, Walmart, or any jewelry supply store.

Stubborn Tarnish (for SilveryCopper & GoldCopper only): If a polishing cloth struggles to restore the shine, use a brass or copper cleaner (like Brasso or Wright's Copper Cream).

Metal What to Expect How to Care for It
Sterling Silver Tarnishes slowly over time. Easy to restore. Polish with a jeweler's cloth.
SilveryCopper™ Tarnishes and darkens quickly. Can turn black with wear, lotions, perfumes, sanitizers, or cleaners. Requires frequent polishing. Polish often with a jeweler's cloth. For stubborn tarnish, use a brass or copper cleaner.
GoldCopper™ Color darkens and becomes dull over time. Easy to restore. Polish with a jeweler's cloth. For stubborn tarnish, use a brass or copper cleaner.

Nickel-Free SilveryCopper™ & GoldCopper™

SilveryCopper™ and GoldCopper™ are nickel-free. However, because they contain a high percentage of copper, they often leave a green, gray, or dark mark on the skin. This is a harmless reaction between the metal and the skin's natural oils, and it washes off with soap and water. It is not a sign of low quality.

To minimize marks, remove jewelry before exercising, house-cleaning, sleeping, swimming, or applying lotions and sanitizers.

Storing Your Jewelry

How you store your jewelry when you aren't wearing it is just as important as how you wear it.

  • Seal it up. Store pieces in an airtight pouch or a ziplock bag. Reducing exposure to oxygen slows down tarnishing.
  • Keep it separate. Store pieces individually so they don't scratch each other.
  • Cool and dry. Store your jewelry box in a climate-controlled room. Bathrooms are too humid for long-term jewelry storage.
